A nature hotel at the heart of it all - ecological and sustainable
What began with just 27 rooms has grown into 91 Lodge and MehrBlick-rooms.
Throughout the development of our hotelcamp, our top priority has always been to respect the surrounding nature and to integrate harmoniously into the landscape. We aim to be part of the environment – not a disruptive presence.
Every decision has been guided by ecological responsibility and the use of resource-friendly, natural construction methods.
Local spruce wood was used for the façades of the Lodge- and MehrBlick-rooms. The MehrBlick-rooms feature green roofs that bloom in vibrant colors during early summer and provide a valuable habitat for insects. Inside, high-quality natural materials and a clean, timeless design define the atmosphere.
To generate energy and heat, we use heat pumps, a combined heat and power unit, and biogas. A solar thermal system provides hot water. Nearly all lighting has been converted to energy-efficient LED technology. Charging stations are available for electric vehicles—both for guests and for our own administrative fleet.
In our GASTHAUS kitchen, we focus on using regional, high-quality ingredients, often certified organic.
Local potatoes, beef and pork from species-appropriate farms nearby, and even the honey served at breakfast—harvested right here at Camp Reinsehlen—are just a few examples of our regional sourcing philosophy.
More and more of our rooms are cleaned using chemical-free micro-steam devices.
Through our Green Choice program, guests can opt out of interim room cleanings, helping to conserve resources and protect the environment.
Ecological responsibility and environmental awareness are not challenges for us—they are a natural part of who we are. After all, Camp Reinsehlen is embedded in a unique and fragile natural landscape worth protecting.
